The editorial board of the journal "LEGAL HORIZONS" accepts for publication only original materials that have not been published before. The journal uses iThenticate software to control textual borrowing in submitted manuscripts. The editorial board is of the opinion that plagiarism in scientific publications is a violation of the system of norms of professional behavior in the relationship between authors, reviewers, editors, publishers and readers, which contradicts the provisions of the section Publication Ethics.

The Editorial Board analyzes all cases of recorded plagiarism and reserves the right to prevent the manuscript from being accepted for review. The scientific papers received by the editorial board are analyzed according to the following indicators

if the originality of the manuscript text is more than 80%, the material is allowed for publication;
if the originality of the work is between 60 and 80%, the scientific work is returned to the authors for revision with a recommendation to revise the textual borrowings and resubmit the article in a revised document;
less than 60% - the manuscript is not accepted for review.

The percentage of plagiarism is calculated using software that checks documents for borrowings both in the local database and on the Internet. The resulting report is analyzed by the editorial board.

If the fact of textual borrowing was recorded after the publication, the editorial board conducts a thorough analysis. The editorial board will contact the author and inform him/her about this precedent. Pages that contain plagiarism will be marked in the PDF file; depending on the amount of plagiarism, the document may also be deleted from the journal's database.
